A 6-Week Revision Plan for A Level Chemistry

A structured, week-by-week plan that balances content review, past papers and the practical skills examiners keep asking about.

Six weeks is enough time to make a real difference, as long as you spend it on the right things. Re-reading notes feels productive but rarely moves your grade. Active recall and timed papers do.

Weeks 1–2: Find your gaps

Take one full past paper under timed conditions before revising anything. Mark it honestly and list every topic where you lost marks. That list is your revision plan.

Weeks 3–4: Fix the gaps, topic by topic

  • Spend each session on one topic from your list.
  • Finish every session with five exam-style questions on that topic.
  • Keep an error log: the mistake, why it happened, and the correct method.

Weeks 5–6: Papers, papers, papers

Switch to full papers every other day, alternating paper types. Read the mark schemes closely — the wording examiners reward is very consistent from year to year.
